The Memorial Bench dedicated to mom and dad I wanted to let you know about something that our friends, the Princes, the Clearys & the McManes have done for our family.
Last weekend, under the 'guise' of Christmas shopping, the girls & I headed out for the evening. On our way, Jeneane said she needed to run a quick errand...which would require a stop near our house.
So...we drove & yakked...all the while teasing her incessantly about how much she hates to shop. When she stopped the car, I realized we weren't near any houses, but actually at the park at the top of Serfas Club Dr. They said they needed to show me something...
We walked into the park and around the walking path that follows the perimeter of the grass. In the far corner, in a really pretty shaded area, they showed me what they had done...they had a bench installed with a memorial plaque in honor of Mom & Dad!!!
Needless to say, I was surprised, touched beyond belief, and cried for quite awhile! They told me they had been working on this project for over a year!
Wow!! True friends...true treasures!
I will send photos later, if you want...hope you can all get by there sometime soon to see it! (It's especially pretty when there is a clear, crisp sky...or at twilight with all the lights of the valley twinkling beyond...)
